Best Bars To Watch Hockey In Atlanta

Clearly, Atlanta is a football town, but there are still plenty of bars where you can get together with your friends to watch hockey. Some places feature the games regularly, but some might require you to ask the bartender to tune in. Either way, these spots are known as great places to have a beer and enjoy some hockey. Diesel in Virginia Highlands is a great all-around sports bar, and it proclaim its love of hockey right on the front page of its website. Bruins fans will feel welcomed by the flag right outside the bar. Diesel has a full pub menu, including great burgers, and the staff is known for encouraging a relaxed, friendly vibe. It’s pretty much all you could want from a hockey bar experience.

Augustine’s is known for having bartenders who are huge hockey fans, so you’ll never have to twist anyone’s arm to tune in to the game. Any place that features tater tots is probably going to have a huge following, and this is no exception. It’s also conveniently located right in town.

The Midway is known as a good place to meet up with friends and watch a game. You might have to ask the bartenders to switch the channel to hockey, but they are very accommodating. When you enter a bar and some of the bartenders have Bruins tattoos, you know you’re in the right place as a hockey fan. Again, you may have to ask for the TVs to be tuned to the hockey game, but you won’t get any resistance, and the environment at Twain’s is great for enjoying a beer and a game. Whether you want to play pool or just kick back with some bacon mac n’ cheese fritters, you will be glad you made the trip to Decatur. Twain’s is one of the area’s most popular bars, with a true local following.

If you’re traveling for business or just end up in midtown after work, the High Velocity bar is worth checking out at the Marriott Marquis. This will be more on the high end of sports bars, so if you are looking for a great place to meet a business associate or client over a beer, this is a good choice. It often shows non-football-related sports like hockey, so be sure to ask the bartender to change up the channel if the game isn’t already playing when you arrive.
